At FGEN’s 2026 Capital Markets Day, Philip Fjeld, CEO of CNG Fuels, highlighted a significant shift in the business: from having to actively promote the proposition to experiencing genuine demand from customers.
CNG Fuels is one of three growth assets currently in focus within FGEN’s portfolio and operates the UK’s leading biomethane and compressed natural gas refuelling network for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). CNG also demsontrattes the diverstiy of FGEN’s portfolio, differentiating itself from its UK-listted peer group wo tend to focus on solar and wind power
CNG Fuels is seeing increasing demand from major blue-chip customers, including Tesco, Amazon, Aldi and Marks & Spencer. Its Bio-CNG offering provides a domestically produced, renewable alternative to conventional diesel, supporting customers looking to reduce emissions while also benefiting from potentially lower running costs.
The proposition also has an important role to play in strengthening energy security, with domestically produced biomethane helping to reduce reliance on imported fossil fuels.
Looking ahead, Fjeld described the outlook for CNG Fuels as “really, really exciting”, reflecting the continued momentum from customers and the company’s plans to expand its refuelling infrastructure across the UK.
As demand for lower-carbon solutions in the heavy transport sector continues to grow, CNG Fuels is positioned to play an increasingly important role in helping some of the UK’s largest businesses transition towards more sustainable and cost-effective freight.
