Octopus Renewables Infrastructure Trust (ORIT) is a London-listed investment trust managed by Octopus Energy Generation. The trust invests in renewable energy assets across solar and wind, with a focus on delivering income and long-term capital growth.

In 2025, ORIT generated over 1,300 GWh of electricity, supporting a 5 percent increase in underlying revenue. The trust delivered its target dividend of 6.17 pence per share, with cash flows providing 1.14 times cover after debt servicing.

The period was challenging for listed renewables, reflected in a negative NAV total return. Despite this, operational performance improved, with strong solar output offsetting weaker wind conditions due to lower wind speeds.

ORIT also strengthened its balance sheet during the year. Total debt was reduced by more than £50 million, and refinancing activity brought the cost of borrowing to below 4 percent, while gearing remained broadly stable.

Looking ahead, the ORIT 2030 strategy sets out a focus on growth through construction-stage investments and portfolio optimisation. The aim is to scale the trust, enhance returns and continue expanding renewable energy capacity.
