Andrada Mining Limited has secured institutional backing for the next phase of its lithium ambitions, signing a cooperation agreement with the European Investment Bank to accelerate a feasibility study at its Uis mine in Namibia. The partnership will provide up to €2m of non-dilutive technical assistance, funded by the European Union, to advance the lithium expansion project towards a bankable feasibility stage. This is an important step in positioning the asset for future investment and development.
The study will focus on metallurgical testing and infrastructure planning, supporting plans to produce around 50,000 tonnes per year of lithium concentrate by reprocessing existing waste streams from the mine’s tin and tantalum operations. The agreement underscores both the strategic importance of Uis within emerging Western-aligned critical minerals supply chains and Andrada’s broader approach of leveraging external partnerships to de-risk development, as it seeks to scale into a meaningful lithium producer alongside its established tin business.
