accesso enter the healthcare market to provide a better patient experience
accesso Technology (AIM:ACSO) have entered the healthcare market to provide a better patient experience, providing their Experience EngineÔ to Henry Ford hospital System (HFHS). They have partnered with the US hospital Group to launch a service which they expect will redefine the experience for patients, families and caregivers. HFHS operates a six hospital system and will begin piloting accesso’s ‘Experience EngineÔ’ solution in Autumn 2018 with full implementation planned for 2020 on the opening of Henry Fords new cancer institute.
The technology will provide patients with a concierge service, real-time point of care and wayfinding. Patients will be able to pay bills via smartphones and communicate with professionals more easily, whilst family members will receive proximity alerts which let them know how their loved ones are progressing through an appointment.
Steven N. Kalkanis, a Medical Director at the Henry Ford Cancer institute sees the partnership as a means to a step change in the healthcare market, as it allows them to provide “unprecedented convenience with exceptional and personalized care”.
Accesso began life as Lo-Q, a technology solutions provider to the theme park sector. Their technology reduces queues for rides. The company have since developed their product suite to include billing, booking and point-of-sale systems, and expanded the offering into a number of related sectors. The drive behind their approach is ultimately focused on user experience – finding new ways to enhance the experience.
